On Saturday, February 4, 2012 the Chino Police Officers Association will be hosting their 11th annual “Run For Russ” 5K run and community walk. MINI of Ontario is excited to participate in the this event which serves as a tribute to honor the memory of a fallen police officer, Officer Russ Miller who was killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver.

MINI tops of the Quirky Car List

Motor Trend has had difficultly with certain cars lately. Too quirky to ‘fit’ in with the other plain vanilla autos on the road, they decided to group them all together for one of their famous comparisons.

These segment-defying cars don’t really have direct competitors. If you’re a marketing guy trying to convince a millennial or a hipster that a car is as nonconformist as it gets, that’s an asset. If you’re a car magazine trying to set up a comparison test, it’s a headache. We’ve got nothing against quirky cars. In fact, we’re fans of the cars that try something different, but that doesn’t make our planning meetings any easier.

We’ll cut to the chase to let you know that the MINI beat out the other 5 cars practically across the board!

The Mini won, of course, with its driving. The one-two punch of smart gearing and a thick power band make the most of the available power, and they’re accessed via a precise shifter and well-positioned pedals. The real magic comes from the solid chassis, sport-tuned suspension, and direct, communicative steering.

Ugly Sweater Contest

It’s the silly time of year. And what better way to celebrate than with an ugly Holiday Sweater contest! We held our annual holiday luncheon in the MINI showroom Thursday, December 15th. 160 members of the Savage Automotive team attended.

A portion of the showroom was lined with gifts for all. Each employee was allowed to pick from the pile when they’re name was drawn by the office and business managers. We let the winners of the ugly sweater contest pick first!

3rd Place was Yvette Rosales
2nd place was Amanda Romero

And the big winner was Cesar Velasquez
