Stepping out in Mini style

What do the Beatles, David Bowie and Paul Weller have in common? Well, as it turns out, quite a lot. They all have deeply planted roots in British culture and they all put their dynamic stamp on how music was being made in the 60s, 70s and beyond. But for our purposes, the common bond found among these pop icons is their love for all things Mini.

To pay homage to that relationship and to pop culture in general, Mini is launching a new fashion and lifestyle collection called the Sound of Mini. This clothing and accessories line is inspired by the Brit lifestyle and ranges from bold and eye-catching to minimalist and refined.

“The Men’s Sound Jacket and its counterpart for ladies are both perfect for urban explorers – these tapered jackets will be rocking this autumn with their sporty yet elegant look and details like hidden hoods, bright accents in Lime Punch, and linings with Glam Jack prints,” say the editors at the BMW Group. “Those who prefer a more casual look will like our hooded jackets with their Sound of Mini wordmark – the Men’s Sound Sweat Jacket comes in masculine grey and the Ladies’ Glam Sweat Jacket in feminine pink.”

For the office, the Men’s Music Business Shirt and the Ladies’ Music Blouse give a subtle nod to the Mini brand with a badge reading “Mini since 1959.” For after-work gatherings, the Men’s Glam Jack Longsleeve top in dark grey or the Ladies’ Glam Jack Longsleeve counterpart in white are a little edgier. Same goes for the short-sleeved Ladies’ Sound Dress. For weekend lounging, the Sound of Mini line has a set of t-shirts and a polo shirt for the guys and a top and t-shirt for the girls. The accessories are for both sexes with a unisex scarf, hat and boots.

“The new collection includes many more outfits and accessories and will be available through the Mini Online Shop and selected Mini dealerships from September 2012 on,” say the BMW Group editors. “Printable image material can be downloaded from the BMW Group Press Club at www.press.bmwgroup.com.”
